Background
Pizza Hut operates one of China’s most established restaurant networks, serving customers across a large and diverse market. Maintaining consistency across a foodservice operation of this scale requires more than simply sourcing quality ingredients. Products must meet exacting specifications, perform reliably in the kitchen and be supported by a dependable local supply chain.
James Tyler’s knowledge of international food sourcing, China market access and temperature-controlled distribution created a strong foundation for supporting Pizza Hut’s ingredient requirements in China.
The opportunity
Cheese is central to the Pizza Hut customer experience. It must deliver consistent flavour, melt, stretch and appearance while performing reliably across a high-volume restaurant network.
James Tyler worked across the supply chain to connect suitable international dairy products with Pizza Hut’s local requirements. This involved coordinating product evaluation, samples and trials; aligning suppliers with customer specifications; managing importing and compliance; and supporting the commercial process required to move from product assessment to ongoing supply.
The opportunity was not simply to introduce another product. It was to combine international sourcing with responsive local execution, giving both the producer and customer a partner capable of navigating the complexity between factory and restaurant.
The result
James Tyler established a commercial supply relationship supporting Pizza Hut’s operations in China. Our team continues to coordinate with the customer and supplier across forecasting, inventory, importation and local distribution, helping maintain a reliable flow of product into the market.
The relationship demonstrates the value of James Tyler’s foodservice model: understanding the customer’s operational needs, identifying the right international supply solution and managing the details required to turn an opportunity into repeat business.
It also reflects our broader evolution into a foodservice-led, multi-channel distribution business—combining global supplier relationships with local market knowledge, cold-chain capability and hands-on commercial execution in China.
